Wow, Obama is having a busy day today. His day starts at 9:30 as he receives his daily briefing. Kind of reminds me of Hillary’s comments about answering the phone at 3AM. Actually, he probably is still partying at 3AM so he could answer the phone. The day ends with him throwing crumbs to the LGBT group. I wonder what his remarks will be to keep them tied to the Democrat Party.
Here’s the Full Schedule from the White House (all times Eastern):
9:30AM: President Obama and Vice President Biden receives the Presidential Daily Briefing
11:15AM: President Obama attends a meeting with health insurers and state insurance commissioners
11:45AM: President Obama delivers remarks regarding the ongoing effort to implement the new law and the new benefits it affords to families across the country
12:20PM: President Obama and Vice President Biden have lunch
1:35PM: President Obama meets with senior advisers
3:15PM: President Obama meets with Secretary of Defense Gates
4:00PM: President Obama holds a Cabinet Meeting
6:00PM: President Obama and Vice President Biden attend remarks at an LGBT Pride Month event; President Obama delivers remarks
Updated to add his comments to the LGBT from Politico
Welcoming gays and lesbians to the White House on Tuesday evening, President Obama gave a special acknowledgment to Tammy Baldwin and Jared Polis, two openly gay members of Congress.
“They are openly terrific,” he said. “They do great work.”
Obama thanked the visiting activists for taking a stand “against injustices that have been accepted for too long” and said the struggle for gay rights is “as old as America itself.” He also renewed his commitment to ending the ban on gays in the military.
“We have never been closer to ending this discriminatory policy,” he said. “And I’m going to keep on fighting until that bill is on my desk and I can sign it.”
Personally, I love the fact that it sounds like the only reason Baldwin and Polis do great work is that they live openly, he pretty much said nothing. Just as a note, I really don’t care about anybody’s sexuality, but it bothers me that many gays feel that their sexuality defines their whole self worth that they feel it is everyone’s business. What I do sexually is no one’s business and I feel the same about everyone else. I really just don’t care that you want to make out with someone of the same sex in front of me. By the way, I don’t watching a heterosexual couple make out and grope each other in front of me either.
