Senate amendments on the fairness doctrine

radio1

The Senate was busy today in looking after our interests in regards to what we can hear on talk radio. Senator DeMint, who I am really begin to like, introduced a bill that would stop the government to enact the Fairness Doctrine. By a vote of 87-11 it was passed. But, Senator Durbin decided that we do need someone to look after us and put forth an amendment that would encourage the FCC to promote diversity on the airwaves. Umm, doesn’t that actually mean that the FCC is going to be able to tell companies how to do their business, which may have an impact on their revenue?
