So, here are two stories about playing to win. What a difference the two stories are. I don’t fault the kids for playing to win, but I do think there is a world of difference between the other messages the coaches taught the players and their roles as Christians in the world. No, I don’t think the kids should have played at a lower level than they could, but I do wonder if second string should have had an opportunity to play as well in the basketball game. Note the Dallas article has a bit about another coach that did make changes on how her girls played. Makes me wonder, does it help the girls become better player when they can’t do things the easy way in order to score?
This other story is a hanky warning story.
